Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday exchanged Eid-ul-Fitr greetings with members of the diplomatic corps at the State Guest House Jamuna State Guest House.
Ambassadors and high commissioners from various countries began arriving at the venue around 10:20am to convey their greetings to the Prime Minister on the occasion of Eid.
The envoys exchanged pleasantries with him in a cordial and festive atmosphere.
Those present included US Ambassador to Bangladesh Brent Christensen, UK High Commissioner Sarah Cooke, and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Abdullah Jafar H bin Abiyyah, among others.
The prime minister was accompanied by his wife Zubaida Rahman, daughter Zaima Rahman, and his foreign affairs adviser Humayun Kabir during the exchange.
Earlier in the day, Tarique Rahman offered Eid prayers at the main congregation held at the National Eidgah.
