Education plays an extremely important role in eradicating the narcotics problem from society, Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon has said.
He made the remarks as the chief guest while addressing a discussion meeting titled “Education System: Cumilla Concept”, held in the conference room of the Ministry of Education.
The minister stressed that initiatives must be taken to eliminate the drug problem from society by giving priority to education and utilising educational institutions. To achieve this, education enthusiasts, prominent individuals, social workers, and members of the public in every local area must work together in unison.
Highlighting the role of educators, Milon said that teachers are akin to guardians to their students. He emphasised that every teacher must consider students as their own children, educate them as such, and nurture them with moral values.
He further noted that Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is working by placing the highest importance on education, while Members of Parliament across various areas are spontaneously working for educational development.
The minister expressed optimism that the “Cumilla Concept” will play an important role in developing the overall education system.
The discussion was attended by Member of Parliament for the Cumilla-6 constituency Md Manirul Haque Chowdhury, alongside heads of various educational institutions and relevant officials from the Cumilla region.
