Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) organised a “PhD Dissertation Findings Sharing Session” featuring Mafruha Hossain, assistant professor in the Department of Management under the Faculty of Business Administration.
The university congratulated Mafruha on completing her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) on 13 August 2026, reads a press release.
A BUBT graduate and current faculty member, Mafruha presented the key findings and insights from her doctoral research to the BUBT academic community.
Her dissertation, titled “Impact of Green Human Resource Management Practices on Organizational Sustainability in the Leather Goods and Footwear Industry in Bangladesh: The Mediating Effect of Organizational Performance,” examines how Green Human Resource Management (GHRM) practices can strengthen environmental responsibility, improve organisational performance and promote sustainability in Bangladesh’s export-oriented leather goods and footwear industry.
The session provided faculty members, researchers and participants with an opportunity to learn about the study’s findings and discuss their practical implications for sustainable human resource management and organisational development.
Mafruha completed both her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees in Human Resource Management at BUBT, earning outstanding academic distinctions.
She began her academic career at BUBT as a Lecturer in 2013. Over the years, she has authored 13 research articles published in reputed national and international journals, including Scopus-indexed journals.
She has also contributed chapters to books published by Emerald Publishing and Springer Nature. In addition, she has presented research papers at seven international conferences in Bangladesh and abroad, demonstrating her continued engagement with the national and global research community.
Her primary research interests include Green Human Resource Management, Human Resource Information Systems, Human Resource Planning and other emerging areas of management and organisational studies.
The session was jointly organised by the BUBT Research Graduate School (BUBT-RGS) and the Department of Management, BUBT.
