Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Saturday called for national unity, urging citizens to rise above political differences and work collectively toward building an “aspirational Bangladesh.”
He made the remarks while exchanging Eid-ul-Fitr greetings with members of the media at the State Guest House Jamuna State Guest House in the capital.
Highlighting the importance of collective effort, the prime minister said the government remains committed to establishing a country that reflects the expectations of its people.
“We pray to Almighty Allah this Eid that we can build the Bangladesh our citizens desire. The government will continue to work toward fulfilling that vision,” he said.
Tarique Rahman also paid tribute to those who were martyred in 1971 and 2024, remembering their sacrifices with respect and calling for national cooperation in achieving the country’s goals.
Extending Eid greetings to the nation, he expressed gratitude for being able to celebrate the festival in Bangladesh after many years. He noted that people across the country were able to observe Eid peacefully and hoped such harmony would continue in the future.
“We hope that in the coming days, Eid will be celebrated in an even more peaceful environment, with participation from people of all walks of life,” he said.
The prime minister urged citizens to support the elected government in its development efforts, assuring that it would continue to work with full dedication to meet public expectations.
He concluded by wishing well-being for all citizens, irrespective of political affiliation.
