Renowned musician Pantha Kanai is set to make a notable return to the big screen, appearing alongside leading actor Shakib Khan in the upcoming film ‘Rockstar’.
This marks the first collaboration between Shakib Khan and Pantha Kanai, who has confirmed he will take on two roles in the film. While details of his characters remain under wraps, Pantha has revealed that one of his roles will embody the persona of a rockstar. Filming for his scenes is scheduled to begin in the second week of April.
Directed by Azman Russo, who previously gained recognition for his work in commercials, Rockstar is currently being filmed in Malaysia. The movie also stars Sabila Nur and Tangia Zaman Methila opposite Shakib Khan, with veteran actors Tariq Anam Khan and Rosey Siddique playing his on-screen parents. The film is slated for release during Eid-ul-Azha.
The first look poster of Rockstar was unveiled on Shakib Khan’s birthday, 28 March, showcasing the actor in a bold new avatar. In the image, he is seated casually on a road wearing black sunglasses, a relaxed outfit with trainers, and full-body tattoos, with the film’s title displayed prominently in the background.
Pantha Kanai will not only act in the film but also lend his voice to a song composed by Emon Chowdhury. Reflecting on the opportunity, he said the dual role allows him to combine his passions for acting and singing, fulfilling a long-standing ambition after previous contributions to Shakib Khan’s films went unused.
Speaking about sharing the screen with Shakib Khan, Pantha said, “Without any doubt, Shakib Khan is the biggest star of Bangladeshi cinema. He is the only megastar in our country. His journey to this stage is inspiring for everyone and acting alongside him will definitely be a great experience.”
The film’s music is written and composed by Ahmed Hasan Sunny. Pantha Kanai’s vocals will be featured alongside other tracks performed by the singer. Jahid Nirob is also directing some of the musical pieces.
