Shakib Khan’s much-discussed film ‘Soldier’ is set to complete production this month as director Sakib Fahad and his team prepare to travel to Bangkok, Thailand, to film the remaining scenes before its planned release in 2026.
The film, which stars Shakib Khan alongside Tanjin Tisha and Jannatul Ferdous Oishee, centres on the struggle of an ordinary man against corruption and influential syndicates. A promotional teaser released last year offered audiences a glimpse of the story and Shakib Khan’s character.
Also featured in the cast are Tariq Anam Khan and Tauquir Ahmed. The film is being produced by Sun Music and Motion Pictures Limited.
Filming for ‘Soldier’ began in October last year. Although the production was initially expected to be released in December, the schedule was delayed for various reasons. With discussions about the release gaining momentum again, the director said a specific release date has yet to be finalised, but confirmed that the film will reach audiences in 2026.
“At this moment, our main goal is to complete the film properly,” said Sakib Fahad. “October and December are both being considered. Once all the work is finished, we will discuss the matter with the production company before making a final decision.”
He added that there are plans to release Shakib Khan films outside the Eid holiday period as well.
“In my opinion, good films should be released throughout the year,” he said. “Considering the expectations of audiences and cinema hall owners, we are thinking about releasing films at different times of the year.”
According to the director, most of the filming was completed last year. After shooting several important scenes in Bangkok, the team will return to Bangladesh to film the remaining portion of a song sequence.
Once those scenes are completed, production on ‘Soldier’ will officially come to an end.
