Gold prices in Bangladesh have fallen again, with 22-carat gold now priced at Tk2,28,031 per bhori, including value-added tax (VAT).
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced the revised rates in a press release at 10am on Tuesday.
Under the new rates, 21-carat gold costs Tk2,17,773 per bhori, 18-carat gold Tk1,87,124 and traditional-method gold Tk1,52,798.
Previously, 22-carat gold was priced at Tk2,31,297 per bhori. The latest revision has reduced its price by Tk3,266. The prices of 21-carat, 18-carat and traditional-method gold have fallen by Tk3,143, Tk2,591 and Tk2,158 per bhori, respectively.
BAJUS said the revised rates would remain in effect until further notice. Making charges will depend on the jewellery design. As VAT is included in the retail price of gold and silver jewellery, sellers cannot charge it separately.
