The government will take action over the “harassment” of former chief adviser Muhammad Yunus at John F Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in New York, Prime Minister’s Policy and Strategy Adviser Zahed Ur Rahman said.
He made the remarks while responding to a question from journalists at a press briefing at the Secretariat on Tuesday.
Zahed said the government would certainly look into whether there had been any lapse in ensuring that Nobel Laureate Yunus received the VVIP status and treatment to which he was entitled.
He also referred to a previous incident in which an actor was harassed abroad, saying he was aware of the legal proceedings initiated following the incident.
Addressing Awami League members based in different countries, he said, “I want to tell the Awami League terrorists living abroad that if they continue such attempts, they will not be spared.”
