Bangladeshi actress Shobnom Yesmin Bubly confirmed on Friday, June 5, that she and actor Shakib Khan have welcomed a daughter, ending months of speculation surrounding her absence from public life and the entertainment industry.
The actress announced the news through a post on her Facebook page, revealing that their daughter, named Sharlin Khan, was born on May 11. She also shared a photograph of the newborn and requested prayers from well-wishers. Shakib Khan was tagged in the post, although he has not publicly commented on the announcement.
News of the birth quickly generated widespread discussion on social media, with many users commenting on Shakib Khan’s silence. No congratulatory message regarding Bubly or the newborn has appeared on any of the actor’s social media accounts.
Bubly had remained largely absent from acting projects, media appearances and film promotions in recent months. During that time, speculation circulated that she had travelled abroad to give birth, although no confirmed information was available. As a result, there was also uncertainty surrounding the child’s birthplace.
Responding to enquiries via WhatsApp, Bubly said, “Our daughter was born at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka. Alhamdulillah, both mother and daughter are doing well now. Please keep us in your prayers. I will return to work very soon after recovering.”
In an earlier interview, Shakib Khan addressed questions about his personal relationships and said, “Apu Biswas and Bubly are both part of my past now. There is no possibility of rekindling a relationship with either of them under any circumstances.”
The marriage of Shakib Khan and Bubly became public in 2022. It was later revealed that the couple married on July 20, 2018. Their first child, Shehzad Khan Bir, was born on March 21, 2020. The couple publicly introduced their son through social media.
Sharlin Khan is the second child of Bubly and Shakib Khan. She is Shakib Khan’s third child. The actor previously married actress Apu Biswas in 2008, and their son, Abraham Khan Joy, was born in 2016. Although that marriage later ended, the former couple are occasionally seen together in connection with their son.
