On Monday, the actress shared the news through a Facebook post, reigniting public curiosity that first surfaced in February when she posted “Alhamdulillah” on social media. At the time, many fans speculated that she had tied the knot, though she neither confirmed nor denied the rumours.
Following her latest announcement, speculation has once again spread across social media and local entertainment portals regarding the identity of her future husband. Several reports have claimed that Niha is engaged to a Pakistani national, alleging that the couple met during one of the actress’s overseas trips earlier this year before their relationship eventually received the blessings of both families.
However, Niha has chosen not to address those claims directly.
Responding to a question about reports describing her fiancé as a Pakistani citizen, the actress declined to comment on the speculation.
“For now, all I want to clarify is that I am engaged,” she said.
Niha also told Prothom Alo that she deliberately chose to share the engagement news herself and would reveal further details at an appropriate time.
“Nobody had to discover that I am engaged—I announced it myself. Likewise, when the time is right, everyone will know who I am engaged to,” she said.
Her comments suggest that she intends to keep her personal life private until she is ready to introduce her fiancé publicly.
