Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) leaders Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das led a group of party volunteers in a protest at Jantar Mantar early Tuesday, a day after the Centre withdrew its designation as a protest site.
CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke posted a video of the protest, showing volunteers climbing an iron gate and a police barricade to enter the area, reports NDTV.
In the video, Ranka, Das and several volunteers can be seen jumping over a gate while carrying flags. They entered the area to stage a protest and raised slogans as police personnel stationed there chased them.
The protesters chanted “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Inquilab Zindabad” as police tried to stop them, leading to a brief scuffle.
Dipke said in his post that Delhi Police later detained the protesters and took them away.
