Kangana Ranaut has found a point of connection with Anne Hathaway’s views on financial independence, sharing a statement attributed to the Hollywood actor on her Instagram Story, writes Samaa.
The quote said Hathaway had decided at a young age that she would never depend on anyone else to pay her bills and had continued to live by that principle.
Sharing the statement, Kangana wrote, “Who all said this to their 15 years old self? Raise your hands.”
Kangana has often spoken about her own journey towards financial independence. She has recalled leaving her hometown for Delhi, where she worked in modelling and theatre before moving to Mumbai after auditioning for ‘Gangster’.
The actor has also spoken about struggling financially during her early years, including periods when she survived on basic meals. She once said she turned down Rs 50,000 offered by her father because she wanted to support herself.
Her accounts of when she began working have varied. In a 2016 interview with India Today, she said she started at 17, while elsewhere she has recalled leaving home at around 15 and joining Arvind Gaur’s Asmita Theatre group in Delhi.
