Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have congratulated BNP and its Chairman, Tarique Rahman, on securing an absolute majority in the 13th parliamentary election.
In a post on the social media platform X, President Asif Ali Zardari stated that he felicitated Tarique Rahman on BNP’s landslide victory and congratulated the people of Bangladesh on their successful, peaceful election. Pakistan, he added, reaffirms strong support for democratic partnership and shared progress ahead.

In a separate post on X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote that he congratulated Tarique Rahman on leading the BNP to a resounding victory in the parliamentary elections in Bangladesh. He also congratulated the people of Bangladesh on the elections.
