Two newly elected members of parliament from the 13th parliament will take oath on Sunday afternoon. The oath will be administered by Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad at his office in the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban.

After the ceremony, the MPs will sign the oath book as per tradition, in the presence of senior officials, according to the parliament secretariat.

The Election Commission on Friday published a gazette notification announcing the results of Sherpur‑3 national election and Bogura‑6 by‑election.

The two lawmakers who will be sworn in are Md Mahmudul Haque Rubel, elected from Sherpur‑3 in the rescheduled general election, and Md Rezaul Karim Badsha, who won Bogura‑6 by‑polls after Prime Minister Tarique Rahman vacated the seat.

Tarique had won Bogura‑6 in the 12 February general election but later relinquished the seat. In Sherpur‑3, election was postponed earlier due to the death of a candidate, and the rescheduled election was held on 9 April.
