Tollywood actor Koel Mallick marked Bijoya Dashami with an emotional farewell to Goddess Durga, taking part in the traditional rituals alongside her family at the historic Mallick household in Kolkata.

Dressed in a white sari with a red border, a matching blouse and gold jewellery, Koel participated in Devi Baran and Sindoor Khela with the women of her family.

The actor also shared a video message on social media, describing Dashami as a sad day while expressing hope for the goddess’s return next year.

“Today is a sad day. However, we console ourselves by saying, ‘Asche bochor abar hobe’,” she said, extending Bijoya greetings to her fans and wishing everyone happiness and well-being.

Koel was involved in the family’s Durga Puja celebrations from the beginning of the festival. During Ashtami, she took part in Anjali and other rituals with her husband, Nispal Singh Rane, and their children, Kabir and Kabya. Veteran actor Ranjit Mallick and his wife also joined the family celebrations.

For Koel, Durga Puja remains an important way to stay connected to her family traditions and cultural roots.
