Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has thwarted an attempt by four people to illegally enter Bangladesh through the Salda River border in Kasba upazila of Brahmanbaria.
The incident occurred at around 10:30am on Sunday at the zero line of the Salda River border. Lieutenant Colonel SM Shariful Islam, commanding officer of BGB-60 Battalion, confirmed the matter in a press release issued at around 1:30pm on Sunday.
Shariful Islam said four people, including a woman and three children, attempted to forcibly enter Bangladesh through the border on Sunday morning. A regular patrol team from the Salda River Border Outpost (BOP) spotted them near the zero line and prevented the attempted illegal entry.
He added that the BGB remains on maximum alert to strictly prevent any attempt at illegal border crossings.
