Bangladesh claimed their third victory in the CAVA Men’s Volleyball Championship after defeating Nepal in a thrilling five set contest on Sunday.
The match was played in Islamabad, Pakistan. Bangladesh came from behind twice before sealing a 3-2 victory. The set scores were 18-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, 15-11.
Bangladesh made a winning start to the tournament by beating Uzbekistan 3-2. They then lost 3-0 to hosts Pakistan before returning to winning ways with another 3-2 success against Kazakhstan.
Nepal took the opening set after a strong display. Bangladesh answered with an impressive performance in the second set to level the match.
The third set also went Nepal’s way. Bangladesh kept fighting and edged the fourth set by two points to force a deciding set.
The final set belonged to Bangladesh. They stayed in control and closed out the match with a 15-11 win.
The tournament features six teams. They are Bangladesh, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will face Sri Lanka on Monday in their final round robin match.
