Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Thursday inaugurated rooftop solar power systems installed at government institutions in Fulgazi, Chhagalnaiya and Parshuram upazilas of Feni.
He inaugurated the systems around 6:30pm at a ceremony held at Fulgazi Dak Bungalow on Thursday.
The solar systems have been installed at various institutions under the Local Government Division in the three upazilas.
Feni Palli Bidyut Samity and the Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board implemented the projects.
The initiative aims to expand the use of renewable energy by utilising the rooftops of government buildings for solar power generation.
The systems are also expected to meet a significant portion of the electricity demand of the institutions where they have been installed.
