Apu Biswas is expanding her comeback into the digital space with a new web film, ‘Shikar’, signalling a renewed focus on OTT projects after returning to regular work late last year.

The thriller, directed by Kamruzzaman Roman, marks Apu’s latest web outing following ‘Chayabazi’, which was released in 2023. Set in a border-area landscape, Shikar is expected to blend suspense with a strong narrative drive, according to the filmmakers.

Roman said the story is the film’s central strength, adding that Apu will appear in a glamorous role unlike her recent screen work. Preparations are already underway, with the cast and crew gearing up for an overseas shoot.

Apu stars opposite television actor Polash, who makes his web film debut after a series of notable performances on TV. The story and screenplay have been written by Abdullah Zahir Babu, while the supporting cast includes Rashed Mamun Apu and Mahmudul Islam Mithu.

Most of the filming is scheduled to take place in Nepal, with the team set to leave in early March. The web film is slated for release on a local OTT platform, with further details to be announced soon.

Alongside Shikar, Apu has also signed two new feature films, Durbar, directed by Kamrul Hasan Fuad, and Secret, directed by Bandhan Biswas.

Her recently revealed look from ‘Durbar’, a murder mystery thriller, has already drawn attention, underlining her busy return to the screen.
