Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and maintain their perfect start to the Premier League season.
Martin Odegaard scored the winner after Kai Havertz cancelled out Morgan Rogers’ early opener.
Chelsea stunned the home crowd after only two minutes. Rogers struck to give the visitors a dream start and put Arsenal under immediate pressure.
Arsenal responded strongly and began to take control of the game.
Their pressure paid off in the 25th minute. Havertz found the equaliser against Chelsea to bring Arsenal back into the contest.
Chelsea came close to restoring their lead just before half time. Pedro Neto hit the post in added time as the teams went into the break level at 1-1.
Arsenal completed the turnaround five minutes into the second half.
Havertz played a key role in the move with a clever dummy before Odegaard swept home to make it 2-1.
Chelsea tried to respond and enjoyed more of the ball as the second half went on. Cole Palmer tested David Raya, while the Arsenal goalkeeper also reacted quickly to deny Josh Acheampong.
Arsenal remained dangerous at the other end. Havertz released Bukayo Saka with a clever flick in the 69th minute, but Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez produced a fine save to keep out Saka’s first time effort.
Chelsea pushed for an equaliser late in the game. Reece James had a powerful effort headed away by Gabriel before Estevao came close in the 89th minute.
Estevao cut inside from the right and sent a rising effort towards goal, but Raya produced an excellent save to push it over the bar.
Arsenal then protected their narrow advantage through four minutes of added time to secure all three points.
The victory gave Arsenal three wins from their opening three Premier League matches. They moved onto nine points, level with Manchester City at the top of the table.
