Midland Bank PLC has joined hands with Milvik Bangladesh Limited, a Swedish HealthTech company, to expand healthcare access across Bangladesh. The two organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding on September 7, 2025, at the bank’s Head Office in Dhaka, according to a press release from Midland Bank.
The partnership aims to provide digital healthcare solutions and financial inclusion initiatives, focusing on underserved rural and remote areas. Telemedicine, mobile health applications, and digital health records will help people who cannot access traditional medical facilities.
Mohd Javed Tarek Khan, SEVP & Head of the Institutional Banking Division at Midland Bank, and Shihab Uddin Chowdhury, Country Manager at Milvik Bangladesh, signed the agreement on behalf of their organizations.
Khan said the collaboration will make healthcare more accessible and improve financial access to health insurance for all segments of society. Midland Bank’s financial expertise will support Milvik’s technology-driven healthcare services.
The partnership will include subscription collection through Midland Bank’s Agent Banking, API integration for App-in-App services, special discounts for Midland Bank cardholders, and Milvik subscriptions linked to the bank’s payroll package. Health awareness campaigns will also be organized for corporate clients.
Senior officials from both organizations attended the signing. From Midland Bank, Md Rashed Akter, Head of Retail Distribution Division, and Omar Sharif, Head of Digital Financial Services, were present. Milvik officials included Mohammad Ishaque, Country Lead (mHealth), and Riaz Mostafa, Country Lead (Finance & Admin).
The collaboration is expected to bridge the gap between medical services and the people who need them, making healthcare more affordable and accessible nationwide.
