Mahbubur Rahman, Chairman and CEO of ETBL Holdings Limited, has recently been unanimously re-elected as President of International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Bangladesh, the world business organisation, for a two-year term.
ICC has its headquarters in Paris and a physical presence in more than 170 countries, representing 45 million companies and more than one billion workers worldwide, said a press release on Sunday.
Mahbubur Rahman is Vice Chairman of the Bangladesh Foreign Trade Institute and Chairman of Eastland Insurance PLC. He is a former president of the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), and served as founding vice president of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry and vice president for West Asia of the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The board also unanimously elected two vice presidents- Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) President Rupali Chowdhury and Ha-Meem Group Managing Director A K Azad, a former FBCCI president.
