Filmmaker Vicky Zahed is preparing to return to the big screen with a new romantic thriller titled ‘Pulsirat’, marking his latest collaboration with production house SVF Alpha-I Entertainment Limited.
The project has moved into early development following the signing of a formal agreement, with the title now officially registered with the Bangladesh Film Directors’ Association. While casting has not been confirmed, the makers are in talks with Afran Nisho and Mehazabien Chowdhury to play the lead roles.
If finalised, the pairing would reunite Zahed with two performers he has previously directed in several popular dramas and web films, including Chirokal Aaj, Punorjonmo and Redrum. Zahed is also writing the screenplay for Pulsirat, with the first draft already completed.
SVF Alpha-I Entertainment managing director Shahriar Shakil said discussions with the actors are ongoing, adding that further details will be announced once the cast is locked.
Both actors remain busy with multiple projects. Mehazabien Chowdhury is currently attached to the Chorki original series ‘Cactus’, directed by Shihab Shaheen, and has recently appeared in films such as ‘Saba’ and ‘Priyo Maloti’. Afran Nisho, who was last seen in Zahed’s series ‘Aka’, has starred in recent films including ‘Surongo’ and ‘Daagi’.
Alongside Pulsirat, Zahed is also planning to begin work on the second season of his web series ‘Chokro’ later this year.
