Umama Fatema, the Vice President (VP) candidate from the Independent Student Unity Panel, has announced her decision to boycott the Dhaka University Central Students’ Union (DUCSU) election, alleging widespread rigging. The announcement was made in a Facebook post shortly after 3:15 AM on Wednesday.

Fatema wrote in her post, “Boycott! Boycott! I am rejecting DUCSU. This election is a complete sham, a rigged process. After August 5, the Dhaka University administration has shamed the nation. It is an administration backed by Shibir.”

Earlier, during the initial announcement of the election results, Abidul Islam Khan, the VP candidate supported by Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD),  also dismissed the results. In a post on his Facebook page at 2:30 AM on Wednesday, he stated, “I had anticipated this rigged outcome by noon. They can fabricate their own numbers. I reject this orchestrated farce.”
