Two more people have died of measles in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours, with one fatality recorded in Dhaka Division and another in Chattogram Division.
During the same period, 1,245 new suspected measles cases were identified nationwide, of which 52 were laboratory-confirmed.
The figures were reported on Friday in a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to the press release, 1,116 new measles patients were admitted to various hospitals across the country in the last 24 hours, while 1,093 patients were discharged following treatment.
DGHS data shows that from 15 March of the current year to date, a total of 1,77,725 suspected and 20,395 confirmed measles cases have been detected nationwide. During this period, 1,56,718 patients were hospitalised, and 1,50,633 recovered and returned home.
Since the start of the outbreak, a total of 948 suspected measles deaths have been recorded across the country, while the number of confirmed measles deaths stands at 100.
The press release also highlighted updated statistics for the National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign 2026. At the divisional level, 19,825,114 people have been vaccinated against a target of 18,015,064, achieving a coverage rate of 110.0 per cent.
In City Corporation areas, a total of 2,079,460 individuals received the vaccine against a target of 1,905,950, completing a coverage rate of 109.1 per cent.
