Five more children died with measles and measles related symptoms across the country in the past 24 hours, while 1,020 new cases were reported during the period, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The data were released in the DGHS’s daily update issued by its control room on Saturday.
The health directorate said one death was confirmed as measles, while four others were suspected measles cases between 8am Friday and 8am Saturday.
The latest fatalities have taken the total number of measles-related deaths to 1,053 this year.
The DGHS also reported 1,020 new measles cases during the 24-hour period.
