Sustainable Business Connect (SBC), a new platform aiming to bring sustainability and business together by connecting people, ideas, technology, finance and opportunities, was formally launched at an event marking the 10th anniversary of Textile Focus, a specialised industry magazine covering Bangladesh’s textile and apparel sector.
The launch event was held at Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden on Tuesday, said a press release on Wednesday.
SBC Chairman Md Humaun Kabir outlined the platform’s vision, saying SBC aims to help build a more competitive and resilient textile and apparel industry in Bangladesh.
Housing and Public Works Minister Zakaria Taher attended as chief guest. He congratulated Textile Focus on completing 10 years and expressed hope that SBC would contribute to sustainable business development in the industry.
BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan and BKMEA President Mohammad Hatem extended congratulations to Textile Focus and expressed expectations that SBC would contribute to sustainable development in the sector. BTMA Spokesperson Abdullah Al Mamun wished Textile Focus continued success in promoting Bangladesh as a leading global textile hub.
Textile Focus Editor Mohammad Ashraful Islam (Riyadh) presented a documentary on the publication’s 10-year journey and thanked industry stakeholders for their support.
More than 500 industry representatives attended, including association leaders, factory owners, brand representatives, academics, mid- and senior-level professionals, traders and suppliers.
