Ahsanur Rahman has joined Dhaka Bank Securities Limited as managing director, bringing more than 18 years of experience in Bangladesh’s capital market.

Rahman previously served as chief operating officer of UCB Stock Brokerage Limited. Before that, he was chief executive officer of BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage Limited for nearly six years, where he oversaw business growth, operational transformation, risk management and digital initiatives.

Promoting investment research and rational investment behaviour, attracting institutional and foreign investment into the Bangladesh capital market brought him a reputation in the industry.

During his tenure at BRAC EPL, Rahman led the expansion of its branch network and the introduction of technology-based services, including an Order Management System. He also oversaw integration with BRAC Bank’s Astha platform and bKash.

Earlier in his career, Rahman led foreign and local institutional sales and trading operations, working with global funds, international brokers and domestic asset managers. He was also involved in investor engagement programmes and roadshows in London, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Ahsanur Rahman holds a BBA in Finance from East West University and has completed professional programmes in portfolio management, financial analysis, leadership and Islamic finance.

Under his leadership, BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage received the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission’s Independence Golden Jubilee Award 2023 in the broker-dealer category.
