United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has launched an awareness campaign in Chattogram to encourage customers and merchants to adopt Bangla QR, an interoperable digital payment system designed to simplify transactions at retail outlets.

The bank organised the promotional activity at ShoppingBag Super Market on Chatteswari Road in Chattogram on Thursday, where Bangladesh Bank Executive Director (current charge) Swarup Kumar Chowdhury and UCB Chief Executive Officer Mohammad Mamdudur Rashid demonstrated QR-based payments, the bank said in a press release.

The two officials conducted transactions using Bangla QR, showing how customers can pay for purchases by scanning QR codes through supported banking and payment applications.
