Mohammad Mahbubor Rahman, a director of SBAC Bank PLC and an experienced corporate executive, has been elected chairman of SBAC Bank Investment Limited (SBIL).
The appointment was made at the 30th meeting of SBIL’s board of directors on Wednesday, the company said in a press release.
Rahman represents Intec Solution on the board of SBAC Bank PLC and currently serves as chief executive officer and director of finance at Intec Solution.
A professional accountant, he has more than 27 years of leadership experience across six countries — Bangladesh, Malaysia, Vietnam, South Korea, Thailand and Cambodia.
His career includes senior positions at international hospitality groups Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International, with experience spanning financial management, strategic planning, business leadership and organisational transformation.
Rahman is a fellow and council member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB). He holds a Master of Commerce degree in accounting from the University of Dhaka.
His appointment is expected to strengthen SBIL’s strategic direction, corporate governance and capital market operations, according to the press release.
