State-owned Rupali Bank PLC has launched a cheque-free cash withdrawal service that will allow customers to withdraw money from any of its branches without charges in as little as two minutes using the Rupali e-Bank app.
Managing Director Kazi Md Wahidul Islam inaugurated the “Cash By QR” service at the bank’s head office in Dilkusha, Dhaka, on Thursday, 1 October. Customers can withdraw cash by scanning a QR code displayed at the branch, using the new feature on the app and then providing the withdrawal amount and approval code at the cash counter, the bank said in a press release.
Deputy Managing Directors Tahmina Akhter and Md Harunur Rashid were present at the launch.
Under the service, customers do not need to present a cheque to withdraw cash. After scanning the QR code at the relevant branch through the Rupali e-Bank app, they must select the “Cash By QR” feature.
Customers can then collect the cash from the branch counter after providing the withdrawal amount and approval code.
General Managers Mohammed Shajahan Choudhury, Md Ismail Hossain Sheikh, Salamun Nessa and Md Moin Uddin Masud attended the event.
Deputy General Managers Md Anisur Rahman, Md Abdul Mannan Miah and Molla Md Rezaul Karim, along with other officials concerned, were also present.
