Persons with disabilities will receive appropriate assistive devices and employer readiness briefings under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between MM Ispahani Limited and the Bangladesh Business and Disability Network (BBDN) in Dhaka on Thursday.
The partnership will implement the project “ARISE- Assistive Resource Integration for Skills and Employment”, said a press release.
MM Ispahani Limited will support the provision of assistive devices and employer readiness briefings, with BBDN serving as the implementing partner.
MM Ispahani Limited General Manager, HR and Admin, Farhana Afreen said, “At MM Ispahani Limited, we believe that creating an inclusive workplace means creating meaningful opportunities for everyone. Through our partnership with BBDN under the ARISE project, we are pleased to support access to appropriate assistive devices and strengthen workplace readiness for persons with disabilities. We hope this initiative will contribute to greater participation, independence, and sustainable employment opportunities, while encouraging a more inclusive workforce in Bangladesh.”
BBDN Director Operations Aziza Ahmed said: “For many persons with disabilities, the lack of access to appropriate assistive devices remains a significant barrier to participation and skills development. Through ARISE, we aim to address this gap by facilitating access to essential assistive devices and supporting individuals in progressing towards greater independence and employment.”
BBDN is a non-profit trust established by the Bangladesh Employers’ Federation. It is a membership-based network of employers and employer associations formed in collaboration with Organisations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), NGOs and development partners.
