Singer Apu Aman has taken on a special musical role in Abar Hothat Brishti, a remake of Basu Chatterjee’s 1998 film Hothat Brishti.
The film, starring Ferdous, is releasing across Bangladesh today. The original film’s three popular songs—‘Ekdin Shopner Din’, ‘Sonali Prantore’ and ‘Hothat Brishti’—were written and composed by Nachiketa Chakraborty.
Apu Aman has rearranged all three songs for the remake and also provided vocals for each of them. Anupama Mukti joins him on ‘Ekdin Shopner Din’.
Speaking about the project, Apu expressed gratitude to Habibur Rahman Khan, Faridur Reza Sagar, director Chhatku Ahmed and Hasan for giving him the opportunity.
“I was extremely happy to see my name alongside Imon Saha dada’s as the music director at the premiere. It was a great honour and a wonderful opportunity for me,” he said.
While rearranging the songs, Apu tried to retain the atmosphere and appeal of the originals while giving them a contemporary musical treatment.
He hopes the new versions will connect with listeners while preserving the emotional quality of the much-loved songs.
The remake’s success, however, will ultimately depend on how audiences receive it compared with the enduring popularity of the original Hothat Brishti.
