Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Love And War’ has reportedly set a new benchmark in Indian cinema, with its theatrical rights sold for a reported Rs300 crore.
According to Bollywood Hungama, Pen Marudhar secured the global theatrical rights after a competitive bidding process involving several major industry players. A source described the deal as one of the biggest theatrical acquisitions for a 2027 release.
Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal, the film is scheduled to hit cinemas on 21 January 2027. It also marks Ranbir’s reunion with Bhansali two decades after ‘Saawariya’.
The source said the distributors and film’s stakeholders are confident of recovering the investment and turning a profit, citing the combined appeal of the three leads.
The film’s posters were unveiled last week and generated strong online interest. Bhansali is reportedly planning to release the teaser around Diwali alongside ‘Ramayana’.
