Popular actress and presenter Masuma Rahman Nabila, widely known for her role in ‘Aynabaji’, took part in the 13th National Parliament election on Thursday, 12 February. She cast her vote at a polling station in the capital earlier in the morning.
After voting, Nabila shared a selfie with her husband on social media, marking the occasion with her followers. On her verified Facebook page, she wrote, “I have fulfilled my duty as a citizen in the hope of a more developed Bangladesh.” She also encouraged others to participate, asking, “Have you cast your vote?”
Meanwhile, Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Secretariat, Akhtar Ahmed, said that according to information received by 12 noon, 32.88 per cent of votes had been cast across 32,789 polling centres.
Speaking at a press conference at the Election Building on Thursday, he stated that voting was underway at a total of 42,651 centres nationwide. Of these, data had been received from 32,789 centres. The information covered the period from 7.30 am to 12.00 pm.
The secretary added that although isolated incidents had occurred in a few locations, voting had not been suspended at any centre so far.
