AC Milan fought back from two goals down to earn a 2-2 draw against Lazio in Serie A on Sunday.
Diego Moreira came off the bench and scored twice in two minutes to rescue Milan at the Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio made a strong start and took the lead in the 10th minute. Nuno Tavares drove forward before finding Mattia Zaccagni on the left. Zaccagni sent the ball across the box and Matteo Cancellieri finished at the back post.
The hosts continued to create chances and doubled their lead in the 39th minute. Kenneth Taylor sent the ball across from the left for Tijjani Noslin. His effort hit the underside of the crossbar before a messy situation in front of goal ended with the ball crossing the line.
Milan struggled badly in the first half and went into the break two goals behind. Ruben Amorim responded with three changes at half time. Christian Pulisic made his first appearance of the season as Milan looked for a way back into the match.
The changes quickly improved Milan’s attack. Pulisic delivered a cross from the right in the 65th minute. Moreira met it at the back post and guided his volley into the net for his first Serie A goal.
Just two minutes later, Moreira struck again. Yunus Musah won the ball in midfield and sent in a cross. Adrien Rabiot laid it back for Moreira, who fired a first time shot into the net from the edge of the box.
The two quick goals completed Milan’s comeback and made it 2-2. Both teams had chances late in the game, but neither could find a winner.
Moreira’s impact from the bench proved crucial as Milan recovered from a poor first half to leave Rome with a point.
