Cristiano Ronaldo failed to score as Al Nassr were held to a 1-1 draw by Al Khaleej in the Saudi Pro League on Sunday.
Omar Mascarell gave Al Khaleej the lead just before half time. Abdullah Al Hamdan then came off the bench to rescue a point for Al Nassr in the second half. Al Nassr started with Ronaldo and Joao Felix in attack. Sadio Mane and Angelo also featured in the starting side.
The visitors created some early chances. Samu Costa headed over the bar before Ronaldo went close in the 20th minute. The Portuguese forward received the ball from Felix and fired just wide from outside the box.
Al Khaleej grew into the match and took the lead in first half stoppage time. Mascarell rose inside the box and headed home from a corner to send the hosts into the break with a 1-0 advantage.
Al Nassr made a change at half time and increased their pressure after the restart. Ronaldo had a good chance around the hour mark but could not find the target with his header.
Al Nassr then brought on Al Hamdan in the 70th minute. The change paid off almost immediately. Two minutes later, Al Hamdan struck from outside the box to level the score at 1-1.
Al Nassr continued to push for a winner. Mane had an effort blocked in the closing stages as Al Khaleej held firm. Neither side could find another goal in stoppage time and the points were shared.
The result meant a frustrating night for Ronaldo and Al Nassr, who had to settle for a point after falling behind before the break.
