LABAID hosts CME seminar to strengthen dengue awareness

LABAID held a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on dengue, titled “BEAT DENGUE: Awareness, Action and Prevention,” bringing together senior consultants, medical officers, nurses, and support staff to enhance preparedness and clinical management of the disease, said the hospital.
The seminar, chaired by Professor Dr Samiron Kumar Saha, featured a keynote technical paper by Dr Suman Chandra Roy, followed by an interactive discussion encouraging participation from attendees. The expert panel included Dr Sankar Narayan Das, Dr Md Sayedul Islam, and Dr Noor Mohammad, who shared insights on dengue prevention, diagnosis, and management.
LABAID Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ahmad Dawood, FCA, FCMA, presented a crest to the paper presenter in recognition of his contribution and thanked participants for their engagement. He emphasized that the hospital’s priority is to prevent even a single death from dengue and urged staff to maintain preparedness through effective preventive measures, early diagnosis, and appropriate clinical interventions, ensuring high standards of patient care, said Dawood.
The seminar was moderated by Brig General (Retd) Professor Dr Subhash Chandra Roy, Medical Director of LABAID Specialized Hospital. It highlighted the institution’s commitment to supporting healthcare professionals in responding to the ongoing dengue situation while reinforcing the importance of continuous training and awareness programs.
