The Election Commission (EC) has announced that voters will be able to obtain information about their designated polling centres through four simple methods.
According to the EC, these measures have been introduced to facilitate voters in the parliamentary election and referendum. Through these methods, voters can quickly and accurately find their voter number and polling centre details.
Method 1: Smart Election Management BD App
Voters can access their voter number and polling centre information via the Smart Election Management BD app. To do so, they must download and install the app from Google Play Store or App Store.
After installation, they need to select “13th National Parliamentary Election” from the dashboard, then click on “Find Polling Centre.” By entering their National ID (NID) number and date of birth, they will receive their voter number, serial number, polling centre name, and address.
Method 2: Hotline Number
Any voter in Bangladesh can call the hotline number 105 to obtain voter number and polling centre information. After dialing 105, pressing 9 connects them to an operator. Voters must provide their NID number and date of birth. This service will be available daily from 6am to midnight.
Method 3: SMS Service
Voters can also get the information via SMS. They need to type “PC NID” in the message option of their mobile phone and send it to 105. In reply, they will receive their voter number and polling centre details.
Method 4: Election Commission Website
The EC website also provides voter number and polling centre information. Voters can access it from any browser on a laptop, computer, or mobile phone. By clicking on the “Polling Centre” menu, they can search in two ways:
- By selecting the constituency or upazila/thana to view the list of centres.
- By entering their NID number and date of birth to directly obtain voter number and polling centre details.
Additionally, the website offers the option to view polling centre locations directly on Google Maps, including distance and directions.
The general election and the referendum on implementing the July National Charter will be held on Thursday (12 February).
