Five more children died with measles-related symptoms in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll since March to 1,104, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
Of the deaths, 1,003 were among suspected measles patients and 101 were confirmed cases, according to the latest data released by the DGHS Health Emergency Operations Centre and Control Room.
The country reported 1,255 new suspected measles cases and 84 confirmed cases in the 24 hours to 8am on Tuesday.
Since 15 March, the number of suspected measles cases has reached 1,90,510, while 21,392 confirmed cases have been recorded.
The combined number of suspected and confirmed cases stands at 2,11,902.
During the period, 1,68,655 suspected measles patients were admitted to hospitals, with 1,61,798 later discharged after treatment.
In the latest 24-hour period, 1,186 suspected patients were hospitalised and 1,093 were discharged.
Dhaka Division has recorded the highest number of both measles cases and deaths, according to DGHS data.
The division has reported 80,594 suspected and 13,269 confirmed cases. It has recorded 515 deaths, including 451 suspected and 64 confirmed cases.
Chattogram Division has reported 38,008 suspected cases and 94 deaths. Of the deceased, 84 were suspected cases and 10 were confirmed.
Rajshahi has recorded 10,545 suspected cases and 96 deaths, including 93 suspected and three confirmed cases.
Sylhet has reported 15,461 suspected cases and 180 deaths. Of the deaths, 177 were suspected cases and three were confirmed.
Mymensingh has recorded 81 deaths, including 79 suspected and two confirmed cases.
Barishal has reported 79 deaths, with 60 suspected and 19 confirmed cases.
Khulna has recorded 44 deaths, while Rangpur has reported 15.
All deaths reported in these two divisions involved patients listed as suspected cases.
