Health Minister Sardar Md Sakhawat Husain has visited two patients, including a Chinese national, who sustained severe burn injuries in an accident at a factory in Mirsarai, Chattogram.
The minister visited the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery on Wednesday morning and inquired about condition of the patients.
During the visit, he instructed the attending physicians to make every possible effort to ensure their treatment.
The minister assured the Chinese national’s relatives that the highest level of treatment available for burn patients could be provided at the institute.
Professor Md Nasir Uddin, director of the institute, said the two patients, including the Chinese citizen, were brought to the hospital from Chattogram on Tuesday night.
Both patients have been placed on life support, he added.
