Krishak Sramik Janata League President Bangabir Abdul Kader Siddique has announced that it will not take part in the upcoming national parliamentary election.

The decision was disclosed in a press release issued on Saturday afternoon by the party’s acting general secretary Shafiqul Islam Delwar.

The press release said the nation expects a free, neutral and participatory election, but the interim government has so far failed to create an inclusive electoral environment. Instead, the country is being run worse than during the previous government’s tenure, and many people are still being kept away from the election.

Given the circumstances, the party said a free, fair, peaceful and participatory election cannot be expected, adding that there is little enthusiasm or excitement among the general public. For these reasons, the Krishak Sramik Janata League said it would not participate in the so-called 13th National Parliamentary Election.
