Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence is set to star in Zach Cregger’s upcoming sci-fi thriller ‘The Flood’ for Warner Bros’ New Line Cinema. The film is scheduled for release on 11 August 2028.
According to Deadline, Cregger, who directed ‘Weapons’, will write, direct and produce the project based on his original idea. Plot details remain under wraps.
Warner Bros executives Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy praised Lawrence as one of the industry’s most gifted actors and said they were excited to reunite with Cregger after ‘Weapons’.
Cregger also expressed his enthusiasm about working with Lawrence, calling her “one of a kind”.
Amblin Entertainment will produce the film with Roy Lee and Miri Yoon of Vertigo Entertainment.
Lawrence won the Best Actress Oscar for ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ in 2013. She has also starred in ‘The Hunger Games’, ‘American Hustle’, ‘Joy’ and ‘Don’t Look Up’.
