Indian actress Jyotirmoyee Kundu has confirmed her entry into Bangladeshi cinema with ‘Prince: One Upon a Time in Dhaka’, describing the experience as both demanding and rewarding as the film races towards an Eid release.
Kundu, who stars opposite Bangladeshi megastar Shakib Khan, revealed in an interview with Indian daily Anandabazar that she has already completed a five-day shooting schedule in Sri Lanka. The project marks her first appearance in a Bangladeshi film and places her alongside one of the industry’s biggest names.
The production initially planned to begin filming in India last December, but visa delays forced the team to revise its schedule and relocate to Sri Lanka. With time pressures mounting, the crew adopted an intensive shooting routine to keep the project on track.
Kundu said the demanding schedule came with strong support from the cast and crew. She praised the team for helping her adapt quickly, particularly with dialogue delivery, and said the atmosphere on set made her transition into Bangladeshi cinema smoother than expected.
The actress began her career in television before making her big-screen debut in Tollywood opposite Dev in ‘Projapoti 2’. She described her second film, which pairs her with Shakib Khan, as a significant step forward. Comparing the two stars, she said both share a professionalism that creates a positive working environment on set.
Set in 1990s Dhaka, Prince: One Upon a Time in Dhaka features Shakib Khan in a gangster role. The cast also includes Tasnia Farin in a key role, alongside Nasir Uddin Khan, Ejajul Islam and Intekhab Dinar.
The film is directed by Abu Hayat Mahmud and produced by Creative Land Films.
