Shakib Khan’s Eid film ‘Prince: Once Upon a Time in Dhaka’ faced delays despite early announcements and extensive preparations initially. Director Abu Hayat Mahmud planned major shoots at Ramoji Film City in India but visa issues halted progress unexpectedly temporarily.
Rumours suggested the film might miss Eid, but producer Creative Land confirmed the release schedule remains unchanged for this year.
Producer Shirin Sultana said the team adjusted plans due to visa delays and unforeseen industry circumstances affecting production timelines overall.
She added filming will begin in Dhaka first while the team continues pursuing Indian visas through official channels diligently abroad. Shakib Khan is set to join the shoot from January 10, according to production sources familiar with scheduling discussions locally.
Director Abu Hayat Mahmud declined to disclose locations, saying he prefers completing work smoothly before sharing details with the media publicly.
Sources indicate the unit may travel to Sri Lanka soon, completing extensive sequences before considering India later depending on circumstances.
The film explores a notorious Dhaka terrorist from the 1990s and features three heroines opposite Khan in pivotal roles.
The cast reportedly includes Jyotirmayee Kundu, Tasnia Farin, with Sabila Noor expected as the third lead opposite Shakib Khan.
