Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Friday visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka to see an army officer who was critically injured in a tank-firing accident in Hathazari, Chattogram.
The prime minister went to the CMH around noon and enquired about the officer’s condition and treatment.
He wished the injured officer a speedy recovery and directed the authorities concerned to ensure all necessary medical care.
During the visit, Tarique Rahman also spoke to the officer’s family members and offered them reassurance and support.
The accident occurred on Wednesday during a Bangladesh Army field-firing exercise in Hathazari.
Two army personnel were killed and an army officer sustained critical injuries when an unexpected incident occurred while a tank was firing rounds.
The injured officer was subsequently transferred to the CMH for advanced treatment.
The prime minister expressed deep grief over the deaths of the two army personnel and conveyed his condolences to their families.
