Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has provided financial grants to various religious places of worship across the capital’s Dhaka-17 constituency.
On Friday, the prime minister handed over grant cheques to the authorities of mosques and temples from Dhaka-17 constituency at BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan.
The financial support was extended to mosques and madrasas, as well as to various temples on the occasion of the upcoming Sharadiya Durga Puja.
During the event, grant cheques of Tk2.47 lakh each were distributed to 28 mosques in the Dhaka-17 area.
In addition, financial assistance totalling Tk30 lakh was provided to 10 temples, with each institution receiving Tk3 lakh for Sharadiya Durga Puja festival.
This financial assistance was given to support the operational activities of religious institutions and to ensure that the organisation of the Sharadiya Durga Puja proceeds smoothly.
