Jatiotabadi Chatra Dal (JCD) vice president candidate Sajjad Hossain Hridoy, has alleged that the ink applied to voters’ fingers during the Chittagong University Central Students’ Union (Cucsu) election is fading away.
He made the allegation while visiting the IT Building polling centre around 10am on Wednesday.
“The ink applied to voters’ fingers can easily be erased, which raises the possibility of some voters casting ballots more than once,” said Hridoy. “We will inform the Election Commission about the issue,” he added.
Several students said that normal ink was initially used but was later replaced after it was found to be easily removable.
The polling, which began at 9am on Wednesday, will continue uninterrupted until 4pm.
