Nusraat Faria is leaving Raihan Khan’s courtroom drama Tribunal, based on a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, 2000. She joined the film last year as a young barrister, but her courtroom portions were yet to be shot.
Faria informed the media about her departure. TIMES of Bangladesh reached out to her for comment but received no response.
Tribunal also stars Tania Brishty, Tariq Anam Khan, Ador Azad, Rakib Hossain Yvon, Saira Akhter Jahan, Saberi Alam, Milan Bhattacharya and Shahed Ali.
Raihan Khan told TIMES he had heard about Faria’s departure but had not discussed it with her. He said the decision was her personal choice and she was free to leave the film.
Raihan said around 65 per cent of the film had been shot, while Tania Brishty’s illness stalled the remaining work and affected the planned Eid-ul-Fitr release.
He said, “The remaining shooting is stalled because of Tania Brishty and Moushumi Hamid’s health issues. I have not spoken to Faria about the film. I think Faria may have said she was leaving the film out of hurt.”
