Huawei has launched a new energy storage system for Bangladesh’s commercial and industrial sector, aiming to help factories manage power use more efficiently amid rising energy costs and supply challenges.
The company said in a press release that the LUNA2000-241KWH-2S1 series was unveiled at an event in Dhaka attended by industry leaders, factory owners, engineering, procurement and construction firms, and sector representatives.
The system is designed to provide high-efficiency, safe and stable energy storage tailored to local industrial needs, as businesses seek to balance operational costs with reliable power supply.
Huawei South Asia Region President and Huawei Bangladesh CEO Jason Wu said, “Bangladesh is on the pinnacle of solar energy transition for its power efficiency, sustainability and green ecosystem.”
“We are glad to empower the energy industry of Bangladesh to produce more than 430 million kilowatt hours of electricity with our Digital Power solutions,” he said.
The technology has already helped reduce more than 200,000 tonnes of carbon emissions in the country, he added.
Huawei South Asia Digital Power Managing Director Will Yu said the new battery energy storage solution is designed to strengthen energy security and support industrial growth.
“Huawei PV and ESS solutions have already gained popularity, and we have brought more advanced energy storage as part of our commitment,” he said.
The system uses a dual-link safety architecture and hybrid cooling to achieve 91.3 per cent round-trip efficiency, while features such as full depth of discharge and active balancing aim to maximise performance and lifespan.
Smart operation and maintenance tools also help calibrate energy usage and improve system reliability.
The launch event also featured discussions on renewable energy trends and industrial power challenges in Bangladesh, with experts highlighting the role of solar and storage technologies in future energy transition.
Huawei has been operating in Bangladesh for more than 27 years, providing telecommunications, cloud and digital power solutions while supporting the country’s broader digital and energy transformation.
